It’s time for another To Whom it May Concern! This time around we spent the afternoon in Maplewood, NJ. Maplewood has always been at the top of our list and this charming little town did not disappoint.
The first thing we did was drive to the 2 apartments we were interested in renting. This is where things got a little disappointing. Both apartments were located near parts of New Jersey that many people would deem unsafe. Unfortunately, adorable Maplewood borders some not so nice areas.
After ruling out what we felt would end up being our next home we decided to check out the little village of Maplewood. It’s a picturesque town! It has a ton of restaurants, an old movie theater playing current movies, and lots of cute little shops! It’s everything we want in a town!
We were feeling a little hungry so we stopped into Coda for beers and a snack. They serve up a lot of local craft brews and tasty bar bites!
Tom ordered the Bolero Snort Moonwalk from Ridgefield Park, NJ. This hoppy IPA was made to honor the 50th anniversary of the moon walk.
I ordered the Wet Ticket Watermelon Wheat from Roselle Park, NJ. You can’t go wrong with a watermelon beer on a super hot day. It’s so refreshing.
For our bar bites we got fired pickles and some of the best french fries we have ever had. They were so crispy!
Once we were full we decided to check out some of the shops in town. We went into a great book store and super cute gift shop dedicated to Maplewood and South Orange. They had really comfy sweatshirts!
All in all we really enjoyed Maplewood and it helped us make one really big decision… we are no longer planning on renting next year. We’re going to buy our home! The search continues and this time it’s serious!
A little bonus post within this post. We had dinner at Papa Poncho’s in Edison with some friends after Maplewood and it’s really good! It’s Indian and Italian fusion! Tom had a paneer pizza and mine was a Tandoori pizza. Such a cool concept and you should check it out!
