Walt Disney World 2019 – Day 4 pt. 1

We started our day with a very healthy breakfast that the woman in front of us in line purchased for us without us knowing. Disney magic!

There were extra magic hours on Hollywood Studios the morning of our 4th day. We got up early in hopes of rope dropping Slinky Dog Dash. When we arrived at 7:30am our hopes were dashed…

The crowd trying to get into the park was nuts and when the rope finally dropped people were pushing and shoving trying to get to Toy Story Land. Before the park even opened Slinky Dog had a 60 minute wait on the My Disney Experience App and once they let everyone in it instantly went up to a 120 minute wait.

We made it into Toy Story Land and decided to just ride Toy Story Midway Mania early. It’s a favorite of ours and since everyone was at Slinky there was no wait.

We briefly explored the land after riding the carnival game like ride. We took pictures at 2 of the iconic walls (popsicle stick and checker board).

Feeling a little sluggish from getting up early we went and got iced lattes from Joffery’s. Mine was an almond milk vanilla latte and Tom had a classic.

With time to kill before our fastpasses we decided to go visit with some old friends. Mickey and Minnie had a very little wait time which is rare for the characters. We only waited about 5 minutes and they were just so much fun to be around.

Energized from our coffees we went over to Muppet Vision 3D since there are aways rumors that it’s going away soon. I’ve said goodbye my last 3 trips and I hope it never goes away. It’s a classic!

It was then time for me to meet my doom. I have promised Tom every trip to Disney World that we would ride Rock N Roller Coaster… but it never works out. This trip we have a fastpass and it’s happening. It’s his favorite ride and he had a blast. I, on the other hand, walked off shaking.. it was not a pretty picture. Our lunch was about to make up for this though.

We planned on having an early lunch at Baseline Tap House. It’s small and opens at 11am. It was 10:45 so we decided to just wait outside so we could get a seat right away, but when we arrived it was already open… Tom quickly found seats for us inside while I ordered my beer and food then we switched. It’s an old Disney trick if you want to sit down at a small quick service location.

Baseline Tap House is like having a pub in Hollywood Studios. They serve up all Californian beers since Grand Avenue is modeled after old Hollywood. They have breweries like Ballast Point and Golden Road. The taps are ever rotating.

We got beers flights because you already know we like to taste a lot without overdoing it. We paired our beers with a California Cheese and Charcuterie Plate and a Bavarian Pretzel. They come with the following: Toma Farmstead Cheese, Point Reyes Original Blue Cheese, Laura Chenel’s Sonoma Goat Cheese, Chorizo and Calabrese Salami, Cornichons, Grapes and Toasted Baguettes. Beer-Cheese Fondue and Spicy Mustard.

This little bar is a new must do for us! Hollywood Studios is now super popular with Toy Story and Star Wars, but you will always catch us grabbing a beer and some cheese here.

Before heading back to the hotel, we went to visit with BB-8 and it was great! He beeped to us about my Minnie ears asking if they gave me good reception. His character handler had to translate of course, but it was so much fun. We highly recommend.

On our way out of the park we did a little shopping because how can you not. Most of the gift shops were closed, but we got to go in 2 of them.

We had a great early day in Hollywood Studios. We’ll be back Thursday with our date at the Grand!
