This post is going to be super quick, but we went house hunting in Clifton over the summer! This was our first time meeting with our realtor and he took us around to 3 townhomes.
This was a little bit of a rude awakening for us and to keep a long story short these places were extreme fixer uppers. Pro Tip: Online listings can be super deceiving.
The amount of work and money we would have had to pour into these places not to mention what the asking prices were… FORGET ABOUT IT!

We did get to stop by a local restaurant for some brews and a snack to make it all worth it!
The Barrow House is on Van Houten Avenue in Clifton and it’s like a farmy pub. Does that make sense? It’s a pub inside a farm house on a highway! We really enjoyed the atmosphere.

For our drinks we ordered… craft beer! Are you surprised? To give a little nod to our beloved Astoria I ordered the Singlecut Kim. This is their hibiscus sour and one of my all time favorite beers. Tom ordered a Vermont Maple Bourbon beer with a very high ABV (look at the tiny glass).

For our food we went with the Jumbo Bavarian Pretzel with whole grain honey mustard and pimento cheese. We’ve been on a serious soft pretzel with our beers kick lately and this one did not disappoint.

The pimento cheese could have used a bit more seasoning, but the really flavorful honey mustard made up for that. The mustard was sweet with just the right amount of tang. The pretzel had a nice chewy outside with a soft inside. There wasn’t too much salt which is really important to me. This is a really quick review, but we definitely want to go back and try more! Lucky for us my aunt and uncle live in Clifton so we have a really good excuse.

After our snack, we had a wedding(because we saw Clifton over 2 days) to attend so here we are there. We clean up nice!
