Supporting Local: Turf, Surf, and Earth

We’re coming at you with another local restaurant. This time we are highlighting Turf, Surf, and Earth in Somerville. I love this place for its fresh food and vegan options.

I’m always looking for a tasty and healthy place to grab a quick lunch or dinner and this place is perfect! They allow you to build your own bowls, tacos, or sandwiches. You can even choose from their perfectly crafted flavor options. My favorite is baja. Oh and their vegan cashew cheese sauce is seriously on point!

I will say, however, in our quest for takeout and with my pregnancy we chose a few less than healthy options…

Our first night getting takeout from here was all about the burgers! In the second trimester I was all about that meat! I do tend to gravitate towards veggie options in my normal not pregnant life, but this baby wants her cheese burgers!

I went for a classic cheese burger and Tom upped his burger as a BBQ ranch burger (crispy onions, bacon, cheddar, BBQ sauce, & BBQ ranch).

We also shared some fries and onion rings like we were back at Bareburger in Astoria. All in all a very good pregnancy cravings meal!

More recently, while daydreaming about at day in Belmar we ordered Fish tacos from here to help satisfy that Surf Taco craving we were having.

I went for fried fish in a Mexican style (black beans, pico, avocado, cashew sour cream, & salsa
verde) and Tom has blackened fish wit ha baja flavor (guacamole, pico, red cabbage, & baja sauce) and he added some jalapeños.

Both were oh so tasty and a great hot summer night meal!

As we enter different phases of reopening in NJ we wanted to mention that Turf, Surf, and Earth does have outdoor dinning so get back out there when you feel comfortable, but be sure to check their Instagram for social distancing rules.
